About the artist

Janice Wardle is a painter and mixed media artist based in Yangzhou, China. She received her BFA from the University of Lethbridge in 2016, and since then has spent time living and working in South Korea and China. Janice enjoys completing pieces over lengthy periods of time, and taking on multiple challenges at once. She views herself in constant conversation with her work, which results in the culmination of multiple layers and transformations taking place over the course of completing a piece.

 

 Departing from her experiments with activist art, sculpture and performance, Janice’s more recent practice has turned its focus towards representing her experiences living and working in Asia.
